Arrowhead Golf Course Overview
Hole 1: Par 4, 465 Yards: Downhill par 4 with a well placed bunker on the right side for a narrow the landing area off the tee. The shared green (with hole 17)is well guarded with bunkers on the right and a water hazard on the left.
Hole 2: Par 5, 566 Yards: Uphill par 5, a long hole for even for big hitters. to make the green in regulation the shot requires you to carry a bunker to a shallow green.
Hole 3: Par 3 198 Yards: A deceiving par 3 usually plays shorter than the yardage shows. On a clear day, look off to the Northwest for a great view of downtown Denver.
Hole 4: Par 4, 432 Yards: This short, downhill par 4 requires a well-placed and well hit tee shot. The second shot needs to carry all the way to the pin to avoid the neighborhood road and water that separate the fairway and green. Better to go long than short with a backstop behind the green.
Sometimes there are some young go getters selling found golf balls for a buck or two.
Hole 5: Par 4 352 Yards: This short dogleg right encourages playing an aggressive right sign line that can shorten your shot to a well-guarded green. Unless you are a long bomber, be careful not to get caught behind the towering rock formation just off the right hand side. An elevated green can make for and interesting second shot
Hole 6: Par 4, 447 Yards: A relatively straightforward par 4 requires two well-played shots. This hole plays slightly uphill. Despite its straight appearance, this is a challenging narrow hole.
Hole 7: Par 4, 361 Yards: This hole has water guarding the green short and right making it hard to stay dry until you are on the green. Be sure to check the yardage, the distance is deceptive to the naked eye. The ridge in the middle of this green makes 2 putts a good finish on this one.
Hole 8: Par 4, 409 Yards: Uphill from the tee box on this par 4 makes picking the correct club for your second shot a tough test here. Better to go long and use the backstop available behind the green.
Hole 9: Par 3, 175 Yards: The toughest challenge here besides the bunkers and water guarding the green on the right, is keeping your concentration on a tee box that offers an incredible view of the Hogback formations on the back 9.
Hole 10: Par 4, 420 Yards: The tee box right next to the club house with bunkers along the right side as well as the driving range so do go too far left. With bunkers around the green, there is not much room for error on this hole if you want to walk away with a par or better.
Hole 11: Par 3, 156 Yards: This par 3 is one of the easier holes on the course if you can avoid the large deep bunker on the left and the usually deep trouble long.
Hole 12: Par 4, 419 Yards: An uphill, dogleg left, this hole is a challenging one. A well placed long drive up over the trees on the left will leave the big hitter with a short second shot. Finish out with a difficult sloping green. Great location to see some occasional wild life cross.
Hole 13: Par 3, 173 Yards: The signature hole of Arrowhead Golf Club. The tee shot will cause many second and third guesses of what club to hit. Better to be short than long here. The steep, downhill hole has amazing views that can take your breath away.
Hole 14: Par 4, 365 Yards Tee shot out of the rocks and over a lake. Depending on your driving distance will dictate how much of this hole to cut off. The green is a narrow location guarded by bunkers on both sides.
Hole 15: Par 4, 409 Yards: Carrying the rock formation to cut the corner is not a viable option but big hitters love to try it. There is nothing but scrub oak on the other side. Play to the corner and hit an iron into the elevated green which slopes from back to front.
Hole 16: Par 5, 585 Yards: This is the longest hole at Arrowhead . The correct line is down the left side of the fairway. As you approach the green this hole has a great view of Denver in the background. This is the highest elevation on the course.
Hole 17: Par 3, 202 Yards: A downhill par 3. Be careful for a lake on the front right and a bunker on the left. A large green, shared with hole one, makes for a difficult finish.
Hole 18: Par 5, 502 Yards: This par 5 has a hidden lake on the left side when looking from the tee box. This is an uphill hole has a large bunker and protected green. A long and well-played tee shot on right hand side will enable you to reach the green in two. Careful of the trees on the right side as well.
