Shot a 41 tonight, probably my best all-around round of the year. Started under a threat of rain, so we took the cart instead of walking — it never actually rained on us, since we took the cart. Seems thats the way it always works.
Greens were still a little rough from recent plugging and sanding, but it didn’t really affect play. Hit almost every fairway — the only miss was #8, where I got just off the fairway, though it ended up in a good lie so I didn’t even bother logging it as a miss in the app.
Ball-striking was solid all night. Only had one real bad shot, and I made up for it with a nice chip to save the hole. Putting continues to trend in the right direction too — knock on wood. Starting to realize it’s a mental issue.
Swing-wise, I was focused on pointing my left shoulder at the ball on the backswing to cut down on swaying, which has been my long-running nemesis out there. It seemed to help a lot tonight — we’ll see if it holds up next time, since it’s golf.
Cool night, got chilly and dark toward the end, so we busted out the lighted balls on #9. Always a fun way to close things out.
Overall: a really happy round. Hoping the form sticks.
