Step By Step Golf Shot Process

Golf swing step by step for best results – at least for me. Results may vary. Copy at your own risk.

  1. Make sure grip is correct
  2. Loose shoulders — no hunching
  3. Try to keep back straight, butt out, don’t hump the ball
  4. Take club straight back
  5. Weight on inside of right foot — avoid swaying
  6. Turn hips by turning butt toward target direction (its all in the hips)
  7. Keep head still, no moving back or up
  8. Hands high — higher than shoulders
  9. Left shoulder points at ball
  10. Cock wrist at top of swing
  11. Drop hands — don’t turn chest too early
  12. Elbow to side, or left arm across chest
  13. Bow wrist
  14. Release on follow-through – turn body
  15. Cover ball with right shoulder
  16. Fire hips and body through the shot (its all in the hips)
  17. Keep club low through follow-through
  18. Finish on front foot — hold the pose

Trying to put in writing everything I should be doing in my swing. Obviously these are way-way-way too many swing thoughts to have when playing on the course. But I did want to write them all down, I think that will help me work thru them all.

I need to develop a consistent pre-shot routine of a couple, 3 maybe 4, things to think about how do do. Try to just swing on the actual shot. Although my main issue is the sway, I think I will always need to focus on during my shot.
