9 Holes – South Suburban (Back 9)
Overall: Not a great score. Somewhat discouraging given the lessons I’ve been taking, but there were some positives to build on.
Driver: Pretty good for the most part, though sometimes it feels like all arms for some reason.
Par 5s: Some good second shots and drives. Had a really nice second shot on one of them.
Notable hole: On the 3rd hole (back 9, used to be the front), kept my feet planted and stayed down — that was a positive.
What Still Needs Work
- Pre-shot routine — main thing from my last lesson, still not consistent
- Sway — swaying when I get tired or lazy, it keeps creeping back in
- Backswing — not swinging too far back
- Weight shift — need to shift forward and come through the ball; caught myself hitting off my back foot again when I got lazy
- Chipping — going in and out, keeps slipping my mind mid-round
Range Session (Pre-Round)
Hit the range before the round to work on things. Had some good shots. The two main focus points going forward:
- Controlling the backswing
- Shifting weight forward and coming through the ball
Mindset
Frustrating night overall given the work I’ve been putting in with lessons. Not going to be able to play this weekend, so it’s just back to practice and keep grinding.
